George Yardley

George McArthur Yardley was a Scottish centre-forward born in Kirkcaldy. He began his senior career with East Fife, having initially played as a goalkeeper, and later represented Forfar Athletic and Australian club St George-Budapest.

After returning to Britain, Yardley briefly joined Luton Town before moving to Tranmere Rovers in November 1966. He later returned to Australia and also had a spell with Altrincham. After football, he worked as a design draughtsman on the Wirral. Yardley died in November 2018.
